There are many good reasons to switch to digital from traditional materials. Digital is "greener," cheaper, much faster to complete, easy to change, takes up less space, and can be done anywhere you can use your laptop (just to name a few).
I am a digital scrapbook designer. I help my clients take their most precious moments, from individual photos to something unique and memorable to cherish for generations to come.
Capture your special times with MORE than a photo - include the details that made it worth remembering. Photo albums are great, but a digital scrapbook has that extra touch you will treasure forever.

There are TONS of freebies on the internet. Once you find a designer or two that you like, you can buy even more in their online shops. These digital supplies will still be less expensive than raw materials, and you can use them over and over. Check out my "LINKS" page for some of my favorite sites.
Your supplies will consist of a laptop, internet access, and software. I also suggest an external hard drive for backup and storage, so you don't neeed to clog your laptop up with photo and graphic files.
You don't have to be creative, although I think everyone is, you just have to know what YOU like. There are tons of templates and "quick pages" out there to appeal to your personal taste and style. The best part is, someone has done the creativity for you. Once you get more comfortable with the program, you can start creating your own materpieces!
I love (and highly recommend) Photoshop Elements and Photoshop CS5. I like the flexibility with these and the HUGE amount of online resources available. Plus, you have many more options, when it comes to photo editing besides just fixing red-eye, and cropping. PSE/PSCS5 are probably the most widely used programs among designers and the digital scrapping community.
Anything you can make with raw materials, you can do digitally. YOu can make cards, wall art, photo art, invitations, school projects, flyers, announcements, just to name a few. There are many online printing stores where you can print your digital creation on many different objects and surfaces.
You don't have to be a computer wiz to do digital scrapping, If you can use MS Word (or alike), "drag and drop," create a text box, use use the internet, you are good to go. The other skills you will pick up the more use experiment and use the program.
Hi!! My name is Jennifer, and I am a "work-at-home" mom of two, living in Ladera Ranch, California, with my wonderful husband of 15+ years. We moved here from Northern California in 2010. Before my kids I was in Human Resources for over 13 years. I have been arts and crafts in various forms ALL of my life.
I first started scrapbooking my favorite things, as a kid. But when my daughter was born, I really became "obsessed" with all things scrapbooking. I would go to Expos, crop-nights, in-home scrap parties; anything to "to get my scrap on." I went overboard too! I had a great passion for traditional scrapbooking, but it had become more and more difficult to enjoy. With a new baby, I didn't have the time to really do it as much as I wanted to, and I always felt like I would never catch up.
By converting to digital scrapbooking in 2005, I have been able to save money, save space, save time, and get pages finished faster. My "supplies" are just a few mouse clicks away and take up as much physical space as my external hard drive.
The benefit of digital scrapbooking really becomes apparent, when you see an album filled with 65 digital pages is as thick as 20 traditional pages. I love scrapbooking my memories, regardless of medium, and I hope my passion for digital scrapbooking is reflected in my work. I decided to pass on my enthusiasm for digital by doing "scrap-for -hire," for others. Here is my other site:
Even if you pass on my services, give digital scrapbooking a try – you won’t regret it!
